Tekken 7 may receive a camera feature that would allow players to
fight on the left-hand side of the screen in versus matches, even if
they're player two.
This option would only be available on setups involving two screens, or for online multiplayer matches, reports Polygon.
Katsuhiro Harada, chief producer of the Tekken franchise and director of the upcoming Tekken 7, shared a photo on Twitter of what the new "rendering camera system" would look like in action.
The image depicts a two-player versus match on a dual-monitor Tekken 7
arcade cabinet. On one screen, player one begins the match positioned
on the left-hand side. On the other screen, player two also begins on
the left-hand side, like a mirrored version of player one's screen.
The reasoning behind the feature is comfort. Players who are used to
playing on the left side during training or casual play could carry that
familiarity over to competitive matches, where they otherwise might
have had to start on the right, as player two. It's a small difference,
but one that could prove impactful for some.
